The favourites
Real Madrid (+350)
The reigning title winners' odds heavily improved after smashing a downtrodden City side, 6-3, in the play-off on aggregate.
Real Madrid added to its menacing attack this summer when Kylian Mbappe joined a squad already featuring Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham
The defence, however, has become a glaring weakness with season-ending injuries to Daniel Carvajal and Eder Militao.
A lack of team chemistry and bad injury luck kept the club outside the Top 8, finishing the league phase at 15 points.
But now Los Blancos have their spot secured. And considering the winning pedigree and the wealth of world-class talent, they should revert to dominance and defend its crown.
Other Champions League choices
Liverpool (+400)
Liverpool is off to a scorching start under Arne Slot, securing the top spot in the Champions League league table.
The dangerous duo of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz have combined for 44 goal contributions in the Premier League.
Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold lead a stout defensive unit, conceding the fewest goals (21) in the Premier League.
Keepers Allison Becker and Caoimhim Kelleher have combined for five clean sheets, notably against formidable sides RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid.
Liverpool is also sitting atop the Premier League table. Given that, it makes sense for the English giants to be slight favourites to claim its first Champions League title since 2019.
Arsenal (+600)
The British giants finished third (6W, 1D, 1L) at 19 points with statement wins over PSG (2-0), Sporting Lisbon (5-1) and Monaco (3-0).
However, the club will be without Kai Havertz, who is out until the summer with a hamstring injury and potentially Bukayo Saka, who is gearing up for a March return.
Saka was the driving force of Arsenal's attack with four goals and two assists in the competition.
In their absence, Mikel Arteta hopes to get the best out of forward Leandro Trossard, with captain Martin Odegaard back in the midfield stirring up scoring chances.
The Gunners, defensively, have one of the best centre-back pairings in William Saliba and Gabriel to thwart opposing attacks.
Arteta's side is under scrutiny for its reliance on set-piece goals. But the 5-1 thrashing over Manchester City in the Premier League proved it can also score on the break.
Champions League title notes
- Barcelona advanced to the Round of 16 after finishing second (6-1-1) in the league phase. Hansi Flick's side turned heads with convincing victories over Bayern Munich (4-1) and Real Madrid (4-0) in late October. The highest scoring team in Europe are +600 contenders to take the trophy.
