This Term Sheet applies to the 2025 Explore Canada Contests.
OVERVIEW
Once opted in, every $50 wagered in the casino or sportsbook (min. odds -500) in July earns a raffle ticket towards a Grand Prize draw for a trip to Banff worth $8,000.
In August, every $50 wagered in the casino or sportsbook (min. odds -500) earns a raffle ticket towards a Grand Prize draw for a trip to Halifax worth $8,000.
There are also 10 weekly raffle winners of $100 Casino Bonuses for a total of $8,000 in bonuses across July and August.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Explore Canada Contests (the “Contests”) consist of two separate promotional periods (collectively, the “Contest Period”):
- Promotional Period 1: June 27, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. ET – July 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET
- Promotional Period 2: August 1, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. ET – September 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET
ELIGIBILITY
Contest is open to legal residents of Ontario, Canada who, at the time of entry, are 19 years of age or older and are exclusively active players on NorthStarBets.ca with an account in good standing. Canadian residents outside the province of Ontario are NOT eligible to participate in the Contest or win a prize. Employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of NorthStarBets.ca (the “Sponsor”), its associated and affiliated entities, prize suppliers, advertising/promotion agencies and any other individual(s), entity or entities involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the Contest (collectively with the Sponsor, the “Contest Parties”).
HOW TO ENTER
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE OR OTHERWISE IMPACT YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. To receive one (1) entry into the Contest, entrants must place a $50 wager daily on any casino games except the games outlined here or sports bet (an “Entry”). Entrants must opt-into the promotion before placing a wager in order to be considered eligible.
Limit of one (1) Entry per person. A maximum of one hundred (100) entries can be earned per day by each participant for throughout the Contest Period, regardless of the method of entry.
To enter the Contest without placing a wager, type or clearly handwrite on a plain white piece of paper (no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches), an original essay on “Why I want to win the Explore Canada Contests” to a minimum of 200 words, together with your first name, last name, telephone number, complete mailing address (including postal code), age and NorthStarBets.ca username. Entrants must mail (in an envelope with sufficient postage) the above information during the Contest Period to NorthStar Gaming, ‘Explore Canada Contest’, 220 King St. W, Toronto, ON M5H 1K4. Each valid essay entry received that meets these requirements will result in one (1) entry into the Contest. All essay entries must be sent and received within the Contest Period. Repeat essays (i.e. copies of the same essay) will be void, as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Essay entries made in any fashion other than as specified herein are void.
Entrants may not use more than one method of entry to enter the Contest. For clarity, entrants can only use either the purchase method or essay entry option to obtain entries into the Contest.
AGREEMENT TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY RULES
By participating in this Contest, you agree to be legally bound by these Official Rules and Regulations (the “Rules”). All decisions regarding this Contest and the selection of the winners remain with the Sponsor and its promotional agencies and are final.
ENTRY RULES
If it is discovered by the Sponsor (using any evidence or other information made available to or otherwise discovered by the Sponsor) that any person has attempted to use multiple names, multiple identities, multiple email addresses, and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other system(s) or program(s) and/or any other means not in keeping with the Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and/or spirit of these Rules to enter or otherwise participate in or to disrupt this Contest, then they may be disqualified from the Contest in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. Your entry may be rejected if (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor) the entry is not fully completed with all required information and submitted and received in accordance with these Rules during the Contest Period. The Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) are not responsible for (and have no liability in relation to) late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Entries (all of which are void).
VERIFICATION
All Entries are subject to verification at any time and for any reason. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor – including, without limitation, government issued photo identification): (i) for the purposes of verifying an individual’s eligibility to participate in this Contest; (ii) for the purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or legitimacy of any Entry and/or other information entered (or purportedly entered) for the purposes of this Contest; and/or (iii) for any other reason the Sponsor deems necessary, in its sole and absolute discretion, for the purposes of administering this Contest in accordance with the Sponsor’s interpretation of the letter and spirit of these Rules. Failure to provide such proof to the complete satisfaction of the Sponsor within the timeline specified by the Sponsor may result in disqualification in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of this Contest will be the official time-keeping device(s) used by the Sponsor.
PRIZES
There are two (2) Grand Prizes available to be won (one per promotional period):
Promotional Period 1 Grand Prize: A trip to Banff, Alberta for 4 days including round-trip economy airfare for two (2) people, hotel accommodations for 3 nights, spending money, and special experiences, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Approximate prize value: $8,000 CAD (based on Toronto departure).
Promotional Period 2 Grand Prize: A trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia for 4 days including round-trip economy airfare for two (2) people, accommodation for 3 nights, spending money, and special experiences, all as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Approximate prize value: $8,000 CAD (based on Toronto departure).
Exact travel dates and arrangements to be coordinated directly with the winner following confirmation. Travel voucher is subject to issuer terms and conditions.
Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of greater or equivalent monetary value if a prize or any aspect thereof cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes. Any other costs or expenses associated with the prizes not specified herein including without limitation meals, communication charges, room service, gratuities, optional tours, insurance and medical travel documents, transportation and transfers will be the responsibility of selected winners. Sponsor will not be responsible if winner is denied entry onto aircraft, into the destination, or return entry into departure point.
Sponsor is not responsible in the event any winner is refused boarding at any time by the airline or airport security. In such a situation, the winner will be solely responsible for any and all additional costs incurred.
Winner must obey all hotel/accommodation and events rules and requirements, including the hotel requirement to present a major credit card. Failure to follow such hotel and events rules and requirements may result in, without limitation, ejection from the applicable event, non-admission to hotel and forfeiture of all or part of the Grand Prize. In such a situation, the winner will be responsible for any and all additional costs incurred and any unused portion of the Grand Prize will be forfeited.
Secondary Prizes: A total of ten (10) secondary $100 Casino Bonuses are available to be won each week. Potential winners will be randomly drawn every Monday of the Contest Period from entries received up until the previous week. Potential winners will be notified via their account inbox and/or email. Each bonus must be claimed and used within 7 days of issuance and is subject to a 20x wagering requirement on eligible games.
Prize(s) must be accepted as awarded and may not be substituted, transferred or redeemed for cash or otherwise, except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes. Any other costs or expenses associated with the prizes not specified herein will be the responsibility of selected winners.
None of the Released Parties makes any representation or offers any warranty, express or implied, as to the quality or fitness of any Prize awarded in connection with the Contest. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the confirmed winner of a Prize understands and acknowledges that they may not seek reimbursement or pursue any legal or equitable remedy from either the Sponsor or any of the other Released Parties should their Prize fail to be fit for its purpose or is in any way unsatisfactory.
CASINO BONUSES
- Casino Bonuses are offered via a pop-up. They can be accepted or declined.
- Pre-wager bonuses are subject to 20 times wagering requirements.
- Players have 72 hours to accept the bonuses before they are removed from accounts.
- Once accepted, bonuses are available for seven (7) days.
- Players must fulfil the wagering requirements to convert their promotional balance to cash as follows:

ELIGIBLE WINNER SELECTION PROCESS AND ODDS OF WINNING
Two (2) eligible entrants will be selected by random draw:
- Promotional Period 1: The draw will take place on August 4, 2025, in Toronto, ON at approximately 12:00 p.m. ET.
- Promotional Period 2: The draw will take place on September 3, 2025, in Toronto, ON at approximately 12:00 p.m. ET.
In each case, one (1) eligible entrant will be selected from among all eligible entries submitted and received during the corresponding Promotional Period in accordance with these Rules.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for each respective Contest. Limit of one (1) Grand Prize per person. If the same individual is selected as the potential winner of both Grand Prizes, they will be awarded the prize associated with Contest 1 only, and a new draw will be conducted to select an alternate eligible winner for Contest 2.
ELIGIBLE WINNER
NOTIFICATION PROCESS
Selected entrants will be notified by email associated with the entrants NorthStarBets.ca account. Sponsor (or its designated representative) will make a minimum of three (3) attempts to contact the eligible winner within three (3) business days of the draw date. If the eligible winner cannot be contacted as outlined above, or if there is a return of any notification as undeliverable; then they may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be disqualified (and, if disqualified, will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected eligible winner).
ELIGIBLE WINNER
CONFIRMATION PROCESS
NO ONE IS A WINNER UNLESS AND UNTIL THE SPONSOR OFFICIALLY CONFIRMS THEM AS THE WINNER IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE RULES. BEFORE BEING DECLARED AS THE CONFIRMED PRIZE WINNER, the potential winner will be required to: (a) correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question (without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise), which may, in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor, be administered online, by email or other electronic means, by telephone, or in the Sponsor’s form of declaration and release; and (b) sign and return within three (3) business days of notification the Sponsor’s declaration and release form, which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Prize (as awarded); (iii) releases the Sponsor and all of the other Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, their participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the Prize or any portion thereof; and (iv) agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of their name, city and province/territory of residence, voice, statements about the Contest and/or photograph or other likeness without further notice or compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor in any manner whatsoever, including print, broadcast or the internet.
If a selected entrant: (a) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question; (b) fails to return the properly executed Contest documents within the specified time; (c) cannot accept (or is unwilling to accept) the applicable Prize (as awarded) for any reason; and/or (d) is determined to be in violation of these Rules (all as determined by the Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion); then they will be disqualified (and will forfeit all rights to the applicable Prize) and the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion and time permitting, to randomly select an alternate eligible entrant from among the remaining eligible Entries submitted and received in accordance with these Rules (in which case the foregoing provisions of this section shall apply to such newly selected eligible winner).
By accepting a prize, winner agrees to Sponsor's use of his/her name, city/province of residence, picture, biographical information, statements, voice and likeness in any advertising and publicity Sponsor and its respective successors, assigns and licensees may conduct relating to the Contest in any media or format, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the World Wide Web, at any time or times in perpetuity, without further compensation or notice, and hereby releases Sponsor from any liability with respect thereto.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. ANYONE DEEMED BY THE SPONSOR TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THE SPONSOR’S INTERPRETATION OF THE LETTER AND/OR SPIRIT OF THESE RULES FOR ANY REASON IS SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION IN THE SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION OF THE SPONSOR AT ANY TIME.
The Released Parties will not be liable for: (i) any failure of the website or any other website, platform or device during the Contest; (ii) any malfunction or other problems of any nature whatsoever, including, without limitation, those relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; (iii) the failure of any Entry and/or other information to be received, captured or recorded for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; (iv) any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating in the Contest; (v) anyone being incorrectly and/or mistakenly identified as a winner or eligible winner; and/or (vi) any combination of the above.
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules, including, without limitation, any error, problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or failure of any kind whatsoever. Any attempt to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest in any way (as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, in any way without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason whatsoever.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law.
By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy (available at: https://northstargaming.ca/privacy). This section does not limit any other consent(s) that an individual may provide the Sponsor or others in relation to the collection, use and/or disclosure of their personal information.
The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to adjust any of the dates, timeframes and/or other Contest mechanics stipulated in these Rules, to the extent deemed necessary by the Sponsor, for purposes of verifying compliance by any entrant, Entry and/or other information with these Rules, or as a result of any technical or other problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules, or for any other reason.
In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to, advertising and/or any instructions or interpretations of these Rules given by any representative of the Sponsor, the terms and conditions of these Rules shall prevail, govern and control to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these Rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with the terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Rules or the rights and obligations of entrants, Sponsor or any of the other the Released Parties in connection with the Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the domestic laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of any other jurisdiction’s laws.
