The Toronto Blue Jays' playoff odds aren't looking promising for the 2025 MLB season.
The latest: Toronto's win total is set at just under 80, making it a long shot to reach the playoffs. Even with the addition of power hitter Anthony Santander and future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer, Toronto is projected to finish last in the competitive American League East division.
Check out our latest Blue Jays playoff odds and their win total betting line for 2025.

Blue Jays playoff odds
The club has +280 odds to make the playoffs and its over/under win total is set at 79.5.
Those numbers haven't changed since the reported Jan. 30 signing of the veteran right-hander Scherzer.
The Scherzer signing is the latest in what has turned out to be a busy offseason for the Blue Jays. But it evidently hasn't been enough to sway the lines for a club that plays in arguably the toughest division in baseball.
Despite the lowered expectations, there are some positives, including the addition of Scherzer.
- Scherzer is a three-time Cy Young Award winner whom the Blue Jays were able to nab on a reported one-year, $15.5 million deal. While his prime years are behind him and he's been saddled by injuries in recent seasons, Scherzer has an established track record and is still effective.
- The 40-year-old Scherzer will occupy a spot in the club's five-man rotation. That group appears set in stone with fellow right-handers Kevin Gausman, Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt and Bowden Francis.
- Santander, the switch-hitting slugger, blasted 44 homers and drove in 102 runs last season. Toronto signed him to a five-year, $92.5 million contract.
- The 30-year-old will hit around superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (sixth in MVP voting last season) and Bo Bichette, a two-time all-star who's a strong bounce-back candidate.
- Toronto bolstered the bullpen by signing all-star relief pitcher Jeff Hoffman to a three-year deal. Hoffman had 10 saves with a 2.17 ERA in 66.1 innings in 2024.
Blue Jays 2025 outlook
While the Jays have some nice pieces, this team isn't ready to compete for a playoff spot, in my opinion.
The Blue Jays are coming off a poor 2024 season after making the playoffs in three of the previous four years.
They finished 12th in the AL with an abysmal 74-88 record. That was their lowest mark since 2019 (excluding the pandemic-shortened 2020 season).
Toronto is expected to deliver a similar result in 2025. At -400, Toronto's implied probability to miss the postseason is 80%.
Blue Jays odds: Projected win total
Only three teams in the AL are projected for fewer wins than Toronto:
- Athletics (71.5)
- Angels (71.5)
- White Sox (53.5)
The Jays' 79.5 projected wins are tied with the Tampa Bay Rays for the lowest in the AL East. Tampa (+1,100) has better odds to win the division, though (Jays are +1,200).
There's still some offseason left so that number could certainly move before Opening Day.
But any impact additions would likely come via the trade route after the last two big-name free agents (Pete Alonso, Alex Bregman) signed just ahead of spring training.
