The NFL season has begun, and the quest for Super Bowl 60 is in full swing.

The latest: The Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills treated us to a thriller in Week 1, and both picked up dominant wins after that. They're the only AFC teams with Super Bowl odds shorter than 13-to-1. In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers remain the cream of the crop.

Betting favourites

Bills (+550)

Buffalo's season opener looked like a dud ... until it didn't.

Josh Allen rallied the Bills for 16 points in the final four minutes to beat the Ravens, 41-40, at Highmark Stadium.

That win could be huge down the line for playoff seeding.

Buffalo hasn't lost a game at home since 2023 and would love to have the AFC run through upstate New York for the first time this century.

The Bills followed up that win with a 30-10 blowout over the New York Jets.

The one team to stop Buffalo from reaching the Super Bowl has been Kansas City. The Bills are 0-4 against Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.

But it looks like the Chiefs have taken a step backward after losing their first two games, and KC now sits at 13-to-1.

Ravens (+600)

Baltimore has a habit of blowing winnable games, but it is still a very good football team.

The Ravens have scored a league-best 81 points through two games. They had the best total offence and third-best scoring offence last year.

Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are an enviable 1-2 punch, and the defence boasts All-Pro talent at all three levels.

If John Harbaugh can find a way to tidy things up in the fourth quarter, Baltimore will be tough to stop.

Betting notes

  • Green Bay (+700) made the move of the offseason by acquiring Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys. And so far, it's paid off quite well. The Packers have held the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders to a combined 31 points, logging the second-most sacks (eight) in the NFL. Jordan Love has the offence firing on all cylinders, too. This is a very dangerous squad.
  • The Eagles (+600) backed up their Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs with a win at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 2, they and remain a strong choice to win it all. The Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley-led offence is potent, and the defence remains among the league's very best.
  • Speaking of the Chiefs, is their window closed? It would be a bit premature to declare that, although this is the first time that Patrick Mahomes is 0-2. KC's defence is still elite, and it largely kept Philadelphia in check. Bettors should assume the offence will find its footing once Rashee Rice returns from his suspension.
  • The San Francisco 49ers (+2,000) find themselves shorthanded once again with Brock Purdy and George Kittle sidelined. But they're still 2-0 with a rejuvenated Christian McCaffrey leading the charge. San Fran has the easiest strength of schedule in the league and will eventually get its QB1 and TE1 back in the lineup — with Brandon Aiyuk as well. This seems like a value play.
